About Latur
Latur is known as an educational hub in Marathwada region of Maharashtra. It is a district headquarter. This city has a historical background. Earlier names of Latur found in historical records are Lattalur and Ratnapur. It is believed that Amoghvarsha the king of Rashtrakutas established this city, originally it was the native place of the Rashtrakutas. In the Post Independent period, it was the part of Osmanabad District which was formed by dividing Osmanabad district on 15th August 1982. Latur district is an abode of historical, religious and cultural heritages. Majority of the population is having agriculture as a major source of livelihood. Our parent institution, Manjara Charitable Trust, Latur is one of the well-known educational institutions in Maharashtra state. The presence of an educational network of the institution can be seen in Mumbai and Latur district. The visionary patron of our institution, Late Vilasraoji Deshmukh, Ex-Chief Minister of Maharashtra established medical colleges, technical institutions, teacher training colleges, degree colleges, junior colleges and schools under the umbrella of Manjara Charitable Trust, Latur.
