Roles & Responsibilities

  • Plans and recommends the annual budget
  • Reviews Library readership dept-wise
  • Frames rules and regulations and other policies for the smooth operation of the library system
  • Organizes orientation programmes for students on various e – resources available in the library, utilization of library software and databases
  • Organizes book exhibitions in the college campus in association with publishers
  • Conducts annual stock verification and approves annual reports etc.,
  • Security of Library properties
  • Introduction of new schemes
  • Management and utilization of e – resources
  • Conduct of seminars and workshops on library resources and services
  • Conduct of Biannual meetings in the month of November and May
  • Updating of books and e – journals
  • Seeking feedback on library functions from readers

Tenure of the Committee

The Committee will hold responsibilities for a term of three Consecutive Academic years

Periodicity of the Meeting

The Committee will meet twice in a semester such as, in the month of June/July and October/November for Odd; December and March for Even semester.

Working hours

On working Days:

09.30 am to 05.30 pm (On holiday and Sunday: Closed)

Before examination days:

09.30 am to 05.30 pm

During examination days:

09.30 am to 07.00 pm During Vacations: 09.30 am to 05.30 pm

  • The college ensures maximum access to the library facilities in terms of working hours as well as the reading materials for the general benefit of the student community.
  • The library advisory committee collects list of required books, reference materials and titles from

the faculty through the head of the departments.

  • The head and the teachers of the respective departments scan books through books-fairs,

catalogues, online internet sources, exhibitions, etc. to get them procure in the college library.

  • Department heads and faculty members recommend books as per their need and the advisory

committee refer to allocated budget while procuring books.

  • Books are purchased according to the urgency and the budget is made available for The

essential books are given priority at the time of purchase.

  • Journals and periodicals are subscribed either through the book-sellers or on the

Recommendation of the faculty members.

  • During last six years, library has purchased books, journals and
